I am Victoria Chervinska, a Ukrainian artist based in the United States. My work explores memory, identity, and the evolving relationship between the individual and their environment. Over time, my visual language has moved from abstraction into symbolic, psychological figuration and, more recently, toward a merging of abstraction and the human form.

I investigate how we carry the past and present with us: how we remember childhood, history, other people and how those memories continue to shape our perception of ourselves and others. I study other people’s lives and how they were shaped by their own environments, and interpret them in my own way through figures, faces, environments, and symbols.
